The Maid
My Rating-5/5
This book which was released a few days ago had been creating a lot of buzz in the reading community So despite having a massive TBR ,I decided to delve into this book and I am glad I picked up this book.
This is the story of Molly who is a maid at a five star hotel who gets caught in the midst of an Agatha Christie level mystery although this book is not a mystery as such.
Molly is an eccentric, socially awkward character who had a traumatic childhood and gave me major Sheldon Cooper of The Big Bang Theory vibes. She also has difficulty understanding emotional cues and does not even understand sarcasm. She is also a neat freak. Her only solace in life was her grandmother who had been by her side since her childhood. She is often seen to be quoting her grandmother's words.
Even the side characters have been carved so flawlessly that you find them relatable and start to empathize with their circumstances.
The writing style of this book is enchanting and keeps you intrigued till the end.
This book is soon to be adapted for television too.
This being the debut novel by this author, I along with many other readers cannot wait for her other works.
