The Betrayal of Anne Frank
My Rating-5/5
With the current situation in Ukraine, one is reminded of the horrors faced by the humanity during various wars. This book which was published a while back, has been on my TBR ever since.
As all the readers of The Diary of Anne Frank and the people aware of the situations surrounding that tragic period in history, would know that after surviving twenty five months in captivation and bearing unfathomable trauma, when it seemed that they are nearing the end of the war,Anne Frank, her family and other Jews residing with them were arrested and were sent into the concentration camps.
This book follows a group of investigators who tried to find the answer of the most important question surrounding that period as to who betrayed the Jews including Anne Frank and her family.
This book will send shivers down your spine while reading about the horrors of that period and the ways in which people were traumatized. This book includes views of the survivors of the Holucast including Otto Frank, Anne Frank's father, the sole survivor of the family.
This book is a difficult yet a must read as it will caution us against the mistakes made by people in the past and it will help us to avoid making the same mistakes so that history does not repeat itself. This book becomes all the more important given the current scenario of the world where the danger of another World War is looming large.
