This was my first book by Em Torrey and I simply adored it. This book documents the journey of Kristen and Jaxson. The chemistry between the two from the get-go is so intense that as a reader, you can feel some of the heat yourself.

   Kristen is such a badass. She is a lawyer and a savage one at that. She is a woman made up of intense resilience and determination. She is the kind of woman no man would dare to mess with. Moreover, she is the kind of woman every girl needs to be in today's day and age to protect herself.

The part of the story regarding her past had me in tears. I could relate to how certain occurrences in one's life make one so guarded by nature that it becomes really difficult to open up in front of anyone due to the fear of being rejected.

  Being a short book while gripping at the same time, this book can be read in a single sitting or two. Kristen's and Jaxson's characters have been carved so intrinsically that it is easy to be smitten by them and be engrossed in their lives.
