Five Days
My Rating-4/5
This book
is an engrossing novella. The author has evoked a whole myriad of emotions
within a couple of pages.
This book
encapsulates five days, during which the life of a twelve-year-old boy Bryson
changes forever. The author has done a fabulous job in depicting the atmosphere
of a household with a terminal ill patient.
As this
book is told from the perspective of a child, we are shown explicitly how such
dire circumstances affect the psychology of a child. Moreover, the author has
also depicted how sometimes parents fail to acknowledge the child in such tough
circumstances and do not share the reality of things with them so as not to burden
them with grief at such a tender age.
This book should be on the TBR of every Jodi
Picoult fan as this book can provide you with the essence of her emotion-filled
novels within a couple of pages.
