Pet Semetary

 My Rating - 5/5

This book was the debut book by the master of horror. In the beginning of this book, Stephen King tells us that he might not have submitted this book if not for the insistance by his wife. It seems unfathomable what kind of extraordinary talent would have been lost to the world if not for appropriate circumstances.

This book mainly contains issues of grief, loss and tragedy. This book pushes the boundaries for even the most sanest of individuals. Mr. King manages to get into the reader's mind and rummages with it and totally fucks with his /her mind.

By the look of the cover of this book, one might think that it is a story about a cat or some other pet.But although pets are one of the plot lines but there are many other plot as well. There are many scenes in the book which makes the hair stand at the back of your neck and sends a chill down your spine. This writing style is perhaps one of the reason he is the best horror writer the world has ever seen.

Although the movie adaptation has a lot of differences from the book and it is not as scary as the book is. This book also makes us question whether sometimes being dead is good and if we try to wreck God's plan we might destroy even the few good things left in our lives.

This book will definitely give the reader nightmares and will keep him/her awake at odd hours.

The speed with which Mr. King writes a book after another it is unimaginable and it is nearly impossible to keep pace with his writing and read all his latest books as soon as they as are published although he is my favorite writer as well as of many other readers.
